Hirer
The person on the insurance entitled to drive the vehicle. The hirer must be aged between 30 and 76 inclusive, hold a full valid driving licence minor endorsements accepted. One additional driver for the same vehicle can be added at a cost of £12/day.
Our insurance is fully comprehensive. The hirer will have to scan/photograph (both sides) and email their driving licence along with documentation showing their name and address. (see examples below)
This is a request made by the insurers. The driving licence must also be shown at the commencement of hire.
ALL DOCUMENTS MUST INCLUDE THE HIRER’S FULL NAME – Current UK Full Photocard Driving Licence – both sides of the card photographed and emailed please and Convictions Verification Page from the DVLA Database.
Current EU member state National ID Photocard and driving licence – both sides of the card photographed and emailed please.
ALL DOCUMENTS MUST INCLUDE THE HIRER’S NAME & CURRENT ADDRESS – A credit card statement, Utility Bills, Council Tax, Current Tenancy Agreement, – all dated within the last 3 months
The insurance is for social, domestic and pleasure and not for racing, pace-making competitions, rallies, track days or speed trials whether on the road, track or off road.

Daily mileage allowed is 150 miles/day. Mileage in excess of this will be charged at £1/mile.
The vehicle will be full of fuel at the start of the hire to be returned similarly at the end of the hire to avoid fuel charges.
Any fines, penalties or court costs incurred during the hire period will be reclaimed by the owners.
Recovery charges will apply if the vehicle is stolen, lost or damaged during the hire period.
Full payment of rental to be paid before any vehicle is released.
Cautionary deposit
Our insurance policy runs with a large excess so if a claim were to be made even for minor damage body/mechanical by a third party or the hirer then a cautionary deposit or a portion of it would be used and the remainder returned to the hirer, unavoidable stone chips accepted.

Cautionary deposit… cheque or bankers draft – held till vehicle is returned and inspected.
Hire period – From 0900 to 1900 daily hire or to 1900 on the last day of a multi-day hire.
Should a car be unavailable due to accident mechanical or other problems outwith our control the hirer will be notified and arrangements made for an alternative date.
It is the hirer’s responsibility to use the correct fuel for the vehicle. Failure to do so will incur charges to rectify any problems that may arise.
Personal property belonging to the hirer (and any other person with them) will be their responsibility and not the owners during the hire of the vehicle. The hirer must ensure the vehicle is locked when unattended.
Our cars are for use in Scotland only when on hire.
In the event of cancellation by us or you for whatever reason, we advise you to take out travel insurance to cover any expense incurred.
